TRINITY COLLEGE HILLEL HOUSE

The new Hillel House at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut is one of several cultural houses on the Trinity Campus. It provides Jewish students, the campus, and the community with resources to explore and celebrate Jewish identity.

Located at the edge of campus, adjacent to a residential neighborhood, the building forms a rectilinear form composed of two zones; a cedar and glass zone contains the program spaces and a limestone masonry zone contains the building's support spaces. Over the program spaces, an asymmetrical roof opens towards the campus and creates an inviting presence on the campus green. On the street side, a private entry with a centered roof line faces the neighborhood. The Hillel House includes a library, living room, dining room, kosher kitchen, and a second floor community space for gatherings, art openings, and religious ceremonies.
