Community Engagement in Providence

At STUDIO ENÉE we believe in the power of community empowerment and the ability for communities to improve their environments. For the 246 Prairie Avenue Parcel in South Providence, Rhode Island, we worked closely with the City of Providence’s Department of Planning and Development, and Dwayne Keys, and conducted a series of workshops with the South Providence community to illicit feedback for the redevelopment of the parcel. We asked for their input and aimed to respect their history along the way.

The final workshop included a model component where residents could help inform massing strategies by moving programmatic blocks on a site plan. The community feedback will inform future development of the site aligning with the community's goals and desires.
